Do I need a partner to come to a Neo Tango class?
No. Singles are very welcome and partners interchange during class, so you'll always have someone to dance with. Couples can stay together if they prefer — there's no pressure either way.
I've never danced before — is this suitable for total beginners?
Absolutely. Classes are beginner-friendly and Ron tailors the night so you're challenged but never out of your depth. Most people are surprised how quickly they're dancing.
Is Tango Bravo the same as Neo Tango?
Tango Bravo is the name of Ron's dance school here on the Gold Coast. Neo Tango is the style we teach and dance to — modern, contemporary music with a relaxed, creative embrace. So when you come to a Tango Bravo class, you're learning Neo Tango.
What's the difference between Neo Tango and traditional tango?
Neo Tango is danced to modern, contemporary music rather than classic tango tunes, and the embrace can be open or closed — so it's more relaxed, more creative, and easier to pick up.
How much does it cost and do I need to sign up?
It's $20 cash per class. No memberships, no lock-in contracts, no subscriptions. Just turn up and pay on the night — and if you miss a week, you don't lose anything.
Where are the classes held?
At Helensvale Community Centre on the northern Gold Coast, every Friday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. It's an easy drive from across the northern Gold Coast.
Can I just show up, or should I call first?
You're welcome to just show up — but a quick call to Ron first is ideal. It lets him plan the class around your level and what you're hoping to get out of it. Call 0432 559 924.
